Starting the DCU

The DCU can be started either from a desktop shortcut or from the command line so that it can be run from third-party installations.

The command line used to start the DCU is as follows:

%DLC%\prowin32 -p icfcfg.w -icfparam DCUSETUPTYPE=user-defined-setup-type

Where:

%DLC% is the directory that contains the Progress OpenEdge executable.
user-defined-setup-type is a setup type defined in the DCU driver file.

The DCU should be started in the directory that contains the icfcfg.w procedure (normally %DLC%\gui\dynamics). Since the DCU uses components of the Progress Dynamics framework, the \af\app and \install subdirectories should be available under DCU’s start directory.
